Turtle Lane Club is the most exclusive-feeling property in our portfolio on Hilton Head Island. It is double-gated — you pass through the Sea Pines community gate, then through Turtle Lane's own private gates to reach these single-story townhomes. The distinctive architectural feature is the interior courtyard in each unit, surrounded by glass doors that flood the living spaces with natural light. Rear balconies look out over a flowing lagoon framed by mature live oaks and a wooden bridge. At roughly 1,786 square feet for a 3BR/3BA, these are spacious, home-like residences rather than typical condo units.

The oceanfront amenities match the exclusive setting. Two resort-sized swimming pools anchor the complex — far more substantial than the single small community pool you find at most buildings. Beach access is via a private path exclusively for Turtle Lane guests, and the Sea Pines Beach Club is immediately adjacent. In summer, when Beach Club parking costs money, Turtle Lane guests simply walk over for beachside lunch, dinner, evening entertainment, and the trolley connection to Harbour Town. Heron Point and the Sea Pines Ocean Course are across the street — the closest golf access of any Sea Pines property in our collection.

The single-story layout means no stairs, making Turtle Lane ideal for families with young children or guests with mobility concerns. Some units are being converted from 3BR to 4BR for larger groups. The trade-offs are real: the pools are seasonal (closed October through April), grocery stores require a 10-minute drive, and you are deep inside Sea Pines at the southern end of Hilton Head Island. But for families who want privacy, space, and walkable access to the Beach Club and championship golf, Turtle Lane Club offers a combination no other building matches.

Our take: Most private and resort-like Sea Pines property with two pools and Beach Club access, but you are deep inside Sea Pines (far from the gate) and there is no grocery or dining variety within walking distance beyond the Beach Club.

Getting around: Very good within Sea Pines. Beach Club immediately adjacent (walk instead of paying parking). Harbour Town ~2 mi by bike. Deep inside Sea Pines, far from gate.

FAQ

Common questions about Turtle Lane Club

Is Turtle Lane Club really double-gated?
Yes — you pass through the Sea Pines main gate and then through Turtle Lane's own private gates to reach the units. It's the most exclusive-feeling complex in our portfolio. The double-gate setup keeps the property quiet and limits foot traffic to actual guests and owners.
How close is Turtle Lane Club to the Sea Pines Beach Club?
Right next door — Turtle Lane is the only building in our coverage with the Beach Club as a literal walking neighbor. In summer when Beach Club parking fills up and costs money, Turtle Lane guests just walk over for beachside lunch, dinner, and evening entertainment. The trolley to Harbour Town and South Beach also stops at the Beach Club.
Does Turtle Lane Club have stairs or elevators?
Single-story townhomes with no stairs and no elevators needed — everything is on one level. That makes Turtle Lane one of the most accessible options in Sea Pines for guests with mobility concerns or families with strollers and young children. Roughly 1,786 sqft for a 3BR/3BA, with a few units being expanded to 4BR/4BA.
How many pools does Turtle Lane Club have?
Two resort-sized swimming pools — not the single small community pool you'll find at most Sea Pines complexes. Both are seasonal, closing roughly October through April. One pool sits directly across from some units' front doors. With the Sea Pines Beach Club next door, beach and pool options are essentially unlimited in season.
Is Turtle Lane Club good for golfers?
Yes — it has the best on-foot golf access of any building we cover. Heron Point by Pete Dye and the Sea Pines Ocean Course are right across the street. Harbour Town Golf Links (home of the RBC Heritage PGA Tour event every April) is about 2 miles away by bike or trolley. Live Oak Restaurant at the Plantation Golf Club is walkable for post-round meals.
How is Turtle Lane Club different from other Sea Pines oceanfront buildings?
Three things make Turtle Lane stand out from buildings like Beachside Tennis Villas and South Beach Villas. First, location: it's deeper inside Sea Pines next to the Beach Club, not down at South Beach Marina. Second, format: single-story townhomes with interior glass-door courtyards instead of stacked condos or stair-only townhouses. Third, amenities: two resort-sized pools and a private beach path versus a single community pool. Trade-off — you don't have the Salty Dog Cafe at your front door the way South Beach buildings do.
What's the interior courtyard about?
Each unit has a glass-door-surrounded interior courtyard that floods the living spaces with natural light — the architectural signature of Turtle Lane. Combined with vaulted ceilings, plantation shutters, and skylights in some units, the layout feels much more home-like than a typical condo. Rear balconies look over a flowing lagoon framed by mature live oaks.
When is Turtle Lane Club cheapest to rent?
November through March. Off-season rates drop significantly versus summer peak. The two pools are closed October through April, so plan around that. Both Sea Pines Ocean Course and Heron Point stay open year-round, which makes Turtle Lane especially strong for shoulder-season golf groups looking for a single-story rental near the beach.
