Why this area

What people love about South Beach

Walk to the Salty Dog in flip-flops

Both buildings sit a 2-minute walk from South Beach Marina Village — Salty Dog Cafe, The Wreck, Jake's Pizza, water sports, dolphin tours. The whole reason South Beach has its own gravity.

Sunsets over the sound

South-facing beach with Calibogue Sound to the west — you get sunrise and sunset from the same balcony. Daufuskie Island sits across the water. Multigen families and couples book here for the view, girls' trips for the marina-village energy.

Quieter than anywhere on the south end

Tower Beach is the least-crowded stretch of Sea Pines beach by a mile. If you want the iconic HHI feel without the Coligny Plaza density, this is the corner of the island that delivers.

What guests say about South Beach

"We've stayed at Beachside Tennis Villas for 9 years. Very private balconies with good views. Beds were very comfortable. Would stay here again."

"We loved staying in this condo for a girls weekend getaway. The access to the beach was amazing and the view was beautiful. Plenty of room for 4 but even 6 guests would have been just as comfortable."

Dining

Where to Eat in Sea Pines

About 8–10 restaurants inside the gates. Enough for a long weekend; a full week will have you venturing off-plantation for variety.

Harbour Town

  • QuarterdeckSeafood and southern classics next to the lighthouse. The rooftop oyster bar has some of the best sunset views on the island.
  • HarboursideFamily-friendly outdoor dining along the marina. American classics with front-row lighthouse views.
  • Links, an American GrillClubhouse dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Popular with golfers.

Beach Club

  • Coast, Oceanfront DiningThe most upscale option within Sea Pines. Fresh seafood with Atlantic Ocean views.
  • Ocean LoungeCocktails and an extensive bourbon selection with ocean views.

South Beach

  • Salty Dog CafeEveryone goes at least once. Waterfront, live music, cold beer, solid seafood. The t-shirt is basically an HHI souvenir requirement.
  • The WreckSame marina, less of a wait. Good when the Salty Dog line is 45 minutes deep on a Saturday in July.
  • Jake's PizzaFast, no-fuss, feeds hungry kids in 15 minutes.

8-10 restaurants is enough for a long weekend but can feel repetitive over a full week. For more variety, head to Coligny Plaza or Shelter Cove — both are a 15-20 minute drive from Sea Pines.
